Sunday, Sunday...

LAST DAY OF BEING STUCK AT HOME!!!

I am so excited to leave my house tomorrow, even if it is for work.  I get to spend my last afternoon of confinement preparing for a deposition tomorrow.  Should be interesting.  For the last 4 days I have been sitting at home trying not to talk b/c it makes me cough.  First day out, I will be talking for about 2 hours.  Say a little prayer for me.

Tim has been in Men's conference at our church Friday and Saturday, so I have been left to entertain myself.  Yesterday I got to go on a mini outing to pick up Lexi.  She went on vacation to Mom & Dad's house to visit Buddy while Tim and I were out of town.  She got to visit Jenny the Groomer while she was there.  If you know my mom, you know she is very particular about Buddy's eyelashes and ears.  I wish I had some pictures to upload :)  We cut Lex's eyelashes, but Jenny left her ears long like Buddy's.  I think they look better short, but she is wearing Buddy style ears for now.  Thank you mom for getting Lexi groomed.  She is excited about her hair cut.  I think Buddy wore her out because this is what she has been doing since she got back to the house:

During my boredom yesterday I started  a little project.  The blank wall behind our bed has been bugging me for months, so I ordered some wall art.  I like it, but I think Tim is leaning the other way.  What do you think?

I have several more of the flower things, but didn't have the energy to put them up.  After looking at it like this I think it might just stay this way.  Once we take the pillow divider off the bed and make it again we will see what it all looks like together.

Instead of going to church this morning (because I'm still contagious), Tim and I podcasted last weekend's sermon.  It actually worked out well, because we missed last week.  Hopefully we can listen to this week before Sunday and it will be like we never missed!  Recently our church changed Sunday night services to Saturday.  I think Saturday may work really well with our schedule until summer.  I am worried about summer because as usual, we will spend a lot of weekends out of town and at the lake.  With no Sunday night, we definitely won't be able to make weekend services.  (not that we went to Sunday nights when we were out of town anyway)

In reality, we are much better about going to church where ever we are visiting.  Austin is easy.  We love The Stone.  My parents have been going to a place called Stonewater out by where we keep the boat, so maybe we will check it out.  Being out of town just makes it more difficult to follow a complete message.  I guess we will just have to pray about it. How important is traveling?

WEEKEND HIGHLIGHT: Chris & Len (Tim's best friend who lives in Hawaii) sent us a very fun thank you note.  In the note, they asked us to be God Parents to their first son who will be here shortly!   Needless to say, we were both super excited and honored.  We can't wait to meet baby Chris!  I am (not so secretly) hoping the baptism is in Hawaii, but I am pretty sure it will be in Houston.  Either way, we will have to visit Hawaii more often now that we will have a God Son there!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday.  I think its about time I crawl into the office and get busy!

Loveland Girl Trip

Here we are kicking things off:

Sharon, Ash and I all live in the Dallas area, but due to work schedules and life we don't get to hang out as much as we would like.  Sarah lives in Portland Oregon, so that explains why we don't get to see her very often.  Tim was off to Scottsdale last weekend to Golf with his brother Jeff, so his trip gave me the perfect opportunity go get in a little girl time.

Once we met up in the Denver Airport it was just like being in College again.  Unfortunately Dustin (the awesome friend who picked us up from the Airport) got stuck in the middle of quite a bit of Girl Talk.  Overall, it was pretty hilarious (for the girls) but there were definitely some moments where I'm sure he wanted to jump out of the car.  Sorry Dustin.

Day 1 was pretty relaxed.  Got settled in, got groceries, pizza, wine & an early bed time :)

Day 2 started with a little Poached Egg Competition.  Guess who won?

Then we headed up the mountain.

After reaching the top, we stopped for a quick photo shoot at the best run on the mountain:
And by quick I mean 20+ minutes.  We each took individual pictures, then waited forever for group pictures.  When someone finally stopped, he cut out the sign.  I'm pretty sure he was an aggie, and I'm pretty sure he cut the sign out on purpose.  Luckily we had friends with us on Day 3 who got a group shot.  I will upload that photo when a get a copy of it.

That night Lizzie, a girl that works at Loveland, invited us to a sledding party.  SO FUN.  Here are some photos.

Lizzie and her neighbors built this awesome sledding track.  You sit in a blow up Kayak and get towed up the track by a snowmobile.  Then you fly down.  This party also included a lot of fried food and a fire pit.  What more could a girl want?  The night got of to a pretty normal start, but did not end without some craziness.  If you would like more details feel free to ask, and one of us will tell you the story about how Sarah ended up getting her name peed in the snow.  (Well, half of it anyway)

Day 3 brought some fun friends to Loveland.  Brian, Kara & Kasia all joined us for some fun on the Mountain.  Then Jared and John joined us for a little Apre' Ski.  Night 3 ended with a little trivia and an early bed time :)

Day 4 sickness hit.  Sarah and I had a nice time in the house watching movies and getting Lasagna dinner ready!  It was a nice relaxing day.   On Day 5 we woke up and headed home.  I sometimes forget how important girl time is.  I hope that we keep our plan and make this trip a yearly thing.  Love you girls!

While the trip was very fun and exciting, I definitely have my hands full at home.  Needless to say, I was very excited to head back to this:

The Flu= Time to Start a Blog

Over the past year or so I have been drawn into reading random blogs.  On several occasions I have thought starting one of my own might be a fun idea.  That being said, there was never time to figure things out.... Until, I got the flu.  This past weekend I went on a girls' trip to Loveland Colorado.  The first three days were amazing and then sickness hit.  By the time I got home Tuesday night I was a mess.  I could barely sleep through the night, waiting for my 10:30am doctor appointment the next day.   That appointment got me nowhere.  By 2pm I was in the ER waiting to get tested for Meningitis.   Luckily it was just the flu.  I owe a huge thanks to Tim and my Mom for sitting in the ER with me for 5 hours.  Seriously, not fun.  I had no idea I would be confined to the house for 7 days!  Crazy.  It is soooo weird to me that I haven't been into the office in over a week.   If I could leave the house this would be AWESOME.  Now that I finally got the right meds, I no longer feel like I am going to die, and am ready to be productive.  This blog is step 1.  I'm not really sure what it is I am going to write about, but I am sure I will find something.  Post #2- Colorado Trip.
