It's going to be a SUPRA summer!

The title is cheesy, I know, but I'm excited!  I can't help it.

In my last post I talked about Trial, which was definitely an experience.  An experience I am glad I only have to go through about once a year.  Unfortunately we did not get a favorable verdict, but I learned a lot through the process.  In the end, even though we didn't win, I think the outcome was best for everyone.  I could go into the legal explanation of why, but who really cares.  I'm just glad the 15+ hour days are over, and hope they don't come back any time soon.

On the plus side, my trial was in Ft. Worth, so Tim & I spent the week at my parents house.  When you live there, you don't realize how spoiled you are.  I am now missing the constant peaceful worship music, coffee and eggs made for me every morning & someone else taking care of dinner for me every night.  I definitely have the best parents in the world. (& husband & brothers who all helped me survive through the chaos)  I owe a special thanks to Billy Ray who showed up to help me pick the Jury Monday.  He defiantly has a gift with people and was a huge help to me in many ways!

Now for the fun stuff...  Two weekends ago the Davis' joined us in Dallas for an action packed 2 1/2 days.  When they got here Friday we took them to Bishop Arts.  This was not the most well planned out trip on my part, but it turned out to be a good time.  (minus the traffic, restaurants not being open mid-afternoon, and lack of AC at Odfellows)  Everything else was wonderful.  Here we are enjoying some drinks at Eno's.

This picture just seemed fitting :)
This was actually taken at Odfellows, but Judy is showing off her chocolate from Dude Sweet.  If you have not been there, try it out.  They have some of the craziest chocolate & you can sample everything!

The next morning the Ladies headed up to the W for Jill's shower.  Jenny and Leslie did an awesome job!  Everything was beautiful.  Here is the guest of honor with her family:

Getting some help with the presents from Cam.

 The Davis Ladies

Saturday night we hit up 5pm church and then headed to The Londoner for Jared's (the Groom) 30th Birthday.  Look how awesome his cake was!
I took pictures early & then stopped, so here are some pics of the early guests.

And last, but not least, Tim's favorite picture of the weekend:

Sunday Jim & Judy got an early start back to Houston.
It was great to have them in town for the weekend!

Later Sunday we stopped by Fuzzy's (for the second time that week) and then headed to our first pool date of the summer.  Sara and Barry have obviously spent a little more time outside then we have.
Don't be blinded by the WHITE :)

We also had a fun visitor.

With Monday came the work week and work outs!  I thought I was going to get some down time, but I was wrong.  Hopefully this week will be a little more peaceful.   Even though work was stressful, I got to go back to my work outs.  Its crazy how much exercises affects my attitude.  I am super thankful for Bootcamp, my Running Girls, and Kassidy who kicked my rear on Monday.

The main event of last week was getting our team logos and numbers for softball.  I am not the most organized 'Team Manager' so we were a little behind on this.  Better late then never.  I will say that this week, for the first time ever, we were more organized than the other team.

It was pretty amusing watching each person try their luck with the iron on logos.  Here is a group shot and then a close up of the awesome logo.  GO THUNDER BUNNIES!

Friday Tim and I officially took possession of our boat.  It has been ours for a while, but because it was winter, it has been sitting out at the lake.  Here is Tim towing it away from its old home:
On the way home from the lake I was super excited to see this:

If you asked me 5 years ago if I would ever be excited about a certain Grocery Store I would have told you that's crazy.  I am officially old... and I officially love HEB.  Last summer Sharon, Ash & I roamed through the San Marcos HEB on our tubing trip and reminisced about the good old days of shopping there.  Hopefully they will come to Dallas soon!

The rest of the weekend was focused on getting the boat ready for the water.  Tim and I are new at this whole boat ownership thing, so we consulted a pro.  By the end of the day our Boat shined like his.
Hopefully it will still look like this in 20 years (like my Dad's does)
Proud of his work.

We ended the night grilling steaks with my parents and sitting in the hot tub.  I miss their backyard!
Our next backyard will look something like this:

We learned a lot on Saturday.  Tim spent the day today picking up Trailer plates and registrations, so hopefully Easter Weekend will include a trip to the lake (if it doesn't rain!)

Sunday we went to Granbury to check out my parents church and visit the Grandparents.  You know you are not in Dallas when the preacher's intro story involves his sheep.  (like actual sheep)  It was a great church.  We are excited to have a place to go when we are at the lake for the weekend.

After church we picked up Grandpa Bill (dad's dad) and Granny Ruth (mom's mom) and headed to Stumpy's.  It was a really cool little lake place.  We will be back!  After lunch the girls did some shopping and the boys went out to the lake lot.  We ended our visit with Granny Johnny.  Lexi came in to meet all the people in her wing of Waterview.  She was a hit.  Just before we left Haley and Jake showed up.  It was a nice little family reunion.  I wish I would have taken pictures.  Next weekend the grandparents will be heading in to Arlington for Easter.

My mom was nice enough to let us leave the boat at my parents house for the weekend.  People storing stuff there is her biggest pet peve.  (6 cars and 2 boats is a lot)  If they are not careful Tim and I are going to move in.  Prior to the last 3 weeks we would visit often, but never stay.  I think we have spent more nights there in the last 3 weeks than our house... and we will be back next weekend.   Eventually we will get it all together & get out of their hair, but in the mean time I don't think they mind :)

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Dark Headed Step Child

Tonight I went to girls dinner with some beautiful bleach blondes & made the coment I felt like the dark headed step child...

Then a new friend showed up & I was really odd man out :)

The Blondes are now out in Frisco & I am home typing this for you.  I guess this is the reality of being a trial lawyer.  As most of you know, my job is pretty cush when it comes to the hours, but the one week out of the year I am in trial I learn what real lawyer life is really like.  I think I have worked a week's worth of hours in the past 3 days.  Friday night till 9:15, Saturday night till 6:15, and home by 10:30 so I can be back in the saddle by 7am.  At times I wonder how I made it through law school.  Times like this remind me.  Although spending the weekend at the office is not my idea of a good time, it is one of those times where you just suck it up and press through.  In the end, it is rewarding, and I feel a lot better about heading into trial Monday.  Hopefully this week I will not be flying by the seat of my pants.

Being that I work for the not so 'typical' law office, my boss told me Thursday he was not planning on attending Trial this week.  I was a little worried about voir dire without someone to take notes on the jury while I talked to them.  Billy Ray to the rescue.  My brother will be joining me this week as my 'investigator'.  I am excited!  Friday my boss told me he may show up afterall.  We will see.  Either way, Billy will be there with me.  He is good with people, so I definately think he will be an asset. Hopefully we will be able to get this wrapped up before Thursday.  I will post more Trial info next week!

On the topic of Thursday, I am really hoping to be done with trial, so I can take part in this:

The Thunder Bunnies made their debut this week with a 9-? win over Menace to Sobriety.   Jonny got this awesome picture with his IPhone.  I was impressed.  My spasticness definitely showed through my 'orginization' skills this week.  Next week Tim will be taking over as manager.  I attribute it to Trial stress.  Overall the game went well, but we do have a member on the injured/reserve list. Jill- Get well soon!  Luckily we also have a PA on the team, so Jill was well taken care of.   Below is a picture of  Kassidy (the PA, in the blue shorts) and Jill (the Injured/Reserve  in gray) the Thursday before the big game at our run & fuzzy driver girls night.

As you can see above, Lexi was not excluded from girls night!  Neither was I.  I think this Fuzzy Driver thing is going t be detrimental to the diet... But its great for my social life :)

Last weekend Tim and I got to have our first 'Sleepover' with Cam.  We got her Saturday afternoon just before nap time.  We visited Church and then Chuck'e Cheese.  She is a fan.  It was really cute how Sam and Cam were instant BFFs.  Here are some pics of our Chuck'e Adventures:

Who was more into it Cam or Tim?

Tim also tried his skills at the kiddie basketball game.  Unfortunately he did not get the all time record, the biggest disappointment of the evening.  He is pretty sure that who ever beat him was 'cheating' because there was no time to make any additional shots (says the 6'10 man playing the kiddie game).

Here is one more pic of the ladies:

Sunday was an exciting day for me.  Stroller day!  Some of you have heard this before, but for those of you who haven't...

A year and a half ago I was shopping for a Christmas present for Jenny (my sister-in-law) when I thought of a running stroller.  I priced them out, but the good ones are over $350.  Crazy!  Needless to say, I never purchased one.  A few months later, on my way to work, I saw that a neighbor was having a garage sale.  Normally I would not stop, but I saw a running stroller.  I used my driving skills to pull a quick U'ie in the middle of the residential street to check out this awesome stroller.  After bargaining I got this jewel for $50.00.  When making this purchase I was very proud of myself and my $300.00 savings.  My husband did not share my pride.  You bought what?  You realize we do not have any kids? etc. etc.  He did not get the practicality of it & I was teased for quit some time.  I still contend that I got a great deal!

To get some use out of the stroller I put Lexi in it and took it for a test spin.  (a select few received this picture)  I really wish I could be the kind of person that runs with my dog in the stroller, but I am just not that cool.  My original thought was better work out for me & Lex gets to come.  Normally she gets left at home b/c of her need to pee in every yard.  Lexi liked the stroller, but I just couldn't do it.  Since our test spin, the stroller has been stuck in our garage for about a year.  Last weekend it came out for the first time.

Cam and I had a great time.  There were just enough squirrels and bunnies to keep her occupied while I got in a great work out.  It is a lot more difficult to run with a stroller then it is without.  I enjoyed the extra challenge & was supper impressed with the stroller's off road capabilities.

When we got home Tim and Cam played her favorite game: Pull me around on the rug.

Jeff and Jenny got back from their weekend adventure that afternoon.  We met our softball team for our first round of batting practice and then ended up at our new favorite place.  Fuzzys.

This weekend Tim is living it up at Boys weekend and I am getting ready for Trial week.  Everyone say a little prayer that justice is done & I stay sane.  If Tim takes any pictures I will post them on next week's blog.  Either way the next blog should be action packed.  My in laws are joining us next weekend & we have several events on the calendar.  Can't wait!
