Letters to Lincoln: 2 Months

Dear Sweet Baby Boy,

You are 2 months old!  At the Doctor you weighed in at 12lbs 6oz and were 24in long.

You got your two month shots on Friday and basically slept all day.  We thought you would be back to normal by Saturday, but boy were we wrong!  After two days of screaming, my Angel Baby returned on Monday.  Mom was pretty nervous when Dad left town on Sunday.  That night was rough.  We are lucky to have Nana so close, and awesome friends like Bara who offered to keep you while you were screaming. That is Love!

We may have to re-do your 2mo photo shoot, because you did not want to play along (or show off your smiles) on your actual 'Birthday'.
I can't believe how fast you are changing.  You are super smiley most of the time and starting to react to us.  You know when mommy and daddy leave the room and I think you starting know certain voices too!

You are really starting to lift your head up high and balance on your elbows for longer periods of time.

You love to look around the room, especially at bright colors and lights.  We have put you in your Bumbo seat a few times, but still have to watch your head.  You are not quite strong enough to hold it up on your own for an extended period of time.

Mommy got super excited because you rolled over very early, but then did not roll for a month.  If I was actually writing this on your 2mo. birthday I would be saying I hadn't seen it again, but you rolled over on Tuesday.  (2 days after your 2mo Birthday)  This one seemed more real because you were happy when you did it.  The first two times you were so mad at me for putting you on your tummy I think you rolled because you were screaming and kicking so hard.

We finished all the stories in your Busy Bible last week.  You love Bible time in the mornings.  Mom is learning a lot from it too.  It is time to start repeating the stories... and probably get another book.  I have a feeling I am going to know your Busy Bible backwards and forwards.

You had several exciting adventures this month!  You stayed overnight in Nana's room so mom and dad could go to Joe T's with Bara and come home and sleep.  Mommy was sad not to have you in our room, but when we woke up you were happy as can be cuddling in Nana's bed.

The next morning you went swimming for the first time!  You seemed to have a great time in the water.  I'm sure you will swim like a fish soon.

The next weekend the Olympics started and you went to your first 'adult' party.  You were a hit!  All the ladies were so busy holding you, mom didn't get you back until the end of the night.  I think you loved all of the Ladies :) ... and some of the guys too.  Here we are decked out in our Red White and Blue!

Gram came in town for her Aglow conference that weekend and you got to hang out with her too.  Mom slacked on the picture taking, but we will get some next time.  Mom and Dad went to a Boat party on Saturday.  You spent the morning with Sam & Ben (and Cassey and Ryan) and the afternoon with Gram.  We got home around 6 and couldn't wait to see you!  A whole day is way to long!

Our newest hobby is Mall walking.  It is way to hot outside right now, so we are joining all the other moms at Willow Bend and Northpark.  Thanks to Elizabeth's recommendation, we found some fun mommy & me classes at Northpark that we will be trying out soon.  Unfortunately, I don't think Lexi is invited to those :(

Last but not least notable adventure of the month was spying on Jonny's date.  You were so incognito.  You didn't make a peep.  We managed to eat dinner, get several pictures, and get out of there without being noticed :)

You are so sneaky Linc :)

Although the adventures are fun, Mom and Dad love staying home and cuddling you.  Here are some of our favorite times... and a chance for you to show off the smile that was missing in the 2mo pictures.

There it is :)

Hanging in the Daddy Chair, one of your favorite places!

Like Father Like Son

Passed out after your shots :(

... and not wanting to sleep in bed that night.
It has been an awesome 2 months.  Mommy and Daddy couldn't love you more! We can't wait for all of the adventures to come.

Letters to Lincoln: 1 Month

I can't believe a month has already passed. (actually 6 weeks, but I am always behind on these things)  You have already taught us so much!

You were born June 5, 2012 at 8:23am.  You weighed 8lbs 6oz and were 22 in long.  In your first month you grew an inch and gained a pound and a half.  Your one month stats were 10lbs 1oz and 23in.  I'm not sure how accurate your inch worm toy is, but if it is correct you are now over 24 in because you are longer than the toy.  We will find out soon!

For the most part you have been an easy baby.  You are really good at breastfeeding & taking a bottle which is awesome, but you also spit up a lot, which is not awesome. Getting up at night is always rough, but from the beginning you have given us 4hr. stretches so we are getting some sleep.    The last two nights you 'slept through the night' (10:45-6:30)  We are really hoping this is not a fluke!

Your current activities include eating about every three hours and rotating a cycle of 3 hours of playing and reading books then 3 hours of sleeping.  You are the most active in the morning and seem to smile the most while laying on the changing pad.  You rolled from your tummy to your back at 2 weeks!  Then again at 3 weeks!  but you have not done it since. You love changing between parents for play time.  If one of us can't make you happy we just switch parrents and that seems to do the trick.  Its seems like you know daddy has been out of town for work and can't wait for him to scoop you up!

Nana has been coming over and playing with you one day a week so mommy can get some work done and then again on Friday nights so Mommy and Daddy can have some alone time out.  She has been working on swimming arms and legs already ;)  We are going swimming at her house for the first time on Friday.  We are hoping you love it as much as you love bath time!

You are already a regular at Fuzzy's and Taco Dinner.  You spent your first Fourth of July with your 'Fire Aunts' & their Hubbies and slept right through the Kaboom Town Fireworks (from a distance).   You have already made two trips to Grandbury to visit the Great-Grandparents and a week long trip down to Houston.  In Houston you got to hang out with Gram and meet Uncle Pat, Jennifer, The Eggermans, Brittany, Maite, EJ, Maria, Abi, and The Fidelibus Family.  If mommy and daddy plan it right you are great in the car!  Only one stop on the way down to Houston... but if we get you off of your schedule you like to scream.  The ride back was  not so pleasant.

You have also had tons of visitors!  Everyone loves you.  You do great being passed around in a crowd!  Bara kept you last Sunday night (1st non grandma babysitters).  You watched the Rangers and learned OSU chants.  Don't worry, nobody will make you do those when the Longhorns are playing!

Here are some pictures from your first month:
