Tough
Linc, this morning has been rough. You have had your first runny nose the past two days :( and on top of that you have waterworks coming out of your mouth. I think that first tooth is coming. You are usually such a happy baby, it's hard when I can't get you to stop crying. I just want to make you feel better, but I don't know how. I know this wont be the last time we are in this situation, but the first is definitely hard. I love you and am praying you get better soon!

Letters to Lincoln: 5 Months
5 Months!!!
...and I am writing this on time!
You are really starting to interact with us. Your smiles and giggles are adorable and a lot more common. You lay on your tummy and wiggle your arms and legs. I know you want to crawl, but just can't quite figure it out. You have started to reach and grab things. I think Lexi is your favorite. She loves you and allows you to pull on her and play. She wants to do everything you do.
Dad and I were curious, so here are your very unofficial stats. They were obtained by weighing with Daddy and using a string and a tape measure. By our measure, you weigh 16 lbs (75-90%) and are 27in long (25-50%). These are very rough estimates, but seem to be on track with where you were at your 4 month appointment.
It is (was) October, and you were ready for Halloween! We started out the month with Pumpkin Paloza. You slept through most of Pumpkin fest, but it was at our house, so I'm sure you experienced the smells.
The next morning was your very first TX/ou game. Unfortunately it didn't turn out very well. We got up that morning and ran with some friends then watched the game on the patio at Banditos. This is very different than how Mommy and Daddy used to spend TX/ou weekend. You even watched the game with an Aggie!
Our house has officially become your house! All signs of the bachelor pad it once was are gone. No one would know this place was once occupied by 4 single guys! The Tim Gym made its way to the garage and you now have a playroom. You love your bright colored floor mat and staring at yourself in the mirror. Having this room open has been AWESOME! Thanks to Daddy and Ryan who got all of the heavy stuff out and Daddy for finding you this play mat.
Later in the month your Great Granny Ruth and her friends from Watermark came on a field trip to the Arboretum. We had lunch with them in the gardens, then walked through all of the Pumpkins and the Chihuly exhibit. It was COLD, but you didn't seem to mind. You were super cute in your little snuggle bear outfit. I think we are going to get a membership next visit. Picnics are calling our name!
The next week Nana had a big birthday and you dressed up for your first Halloween. You were a Monkey and Daddy was your Giant Banana. You started at Nana's and visited 4 friends houses close by. Uncle Cril acted as your traffic patrol :) You were such a ham. Getting the costume on was a little bit of a struggle, but once you were in it, you were all about it.
Once we made it back to the house family and friends came over for dinner, cake and to celebrate Nana! It was a great night!
On an unrelated note, I finished this blog in one sitting because you have been sleeping for an hour and a half. This must be a freak accident. You haven't slept more than 30 min. the last 3 days. Lets work together to make this afternoon nap thing a pattern.
Mommy and Daddy love you and can't wait to see how you grow and change this next month! We are looking forward to Thanksgiving, Collins' Baptism, and celebrating your First Christmas! So many fun things to come!

Letters to Lincoln: 4 Months
4 month post... 1 month late.
You impressed Dr. G at your 4 month check up by rolling over on the table. You were quick to show off your tricks! You are still healthy and tall, but your percentages went down a little. You weighed in at 14lbs 15oz (37%) and were 26.3in long (89%). You are long and skinny, just like your daddy! You hold your title as the littlest Davis (for a few more weeks), Lexi still has about 1/2 a pound on you.
This was an eventful month of Firsts. You have started smiling often, and even laughing a little bit! Your giggle melts my heart.
You went to your 1st wedding! It was beautiful outside and you managed to make it through the whole ceremony! Bill, our home group leader married our friends Matt and Shannon. It was a wonderful night of worship and praise. They did a great job celebrating what God has done in both of their lives and giving him the glory.
How I didn't get a picture of your adorable outfit, I don't know, but you were super cute. (Cassey may have a family pic? I'll add it if I can find it!) I stole the picture below from FB, since apparently I didn't take any that night. The wedding was at Southfork Ranch which was beautiful and fun to see in person. There was even a store there called Lincoln's & Longhorns. We will definitely go back!
2 days later was Gram's Birthday. You sent her a cute book of your pictures and this new one specially for her birthday :)
Daddy staged this photo with Croc and Bevs. It was to cute not to share.
Here you are dressed as Hook'Em headed to Bara's to watch the game! I can't get over how cute you are in this outfit.
Although I continue to work, it is usually done from home while I am covered in spit up and still playing mommy. This week was my first Trial since you have been around. I spent my days 2.5 hours away from you dressed like this:
It was only a couple days, but I was counting the minutes until I got back to this:
Unfortunate timing only allowed mommy to be home with you for one day before she and Daddy went on vacation. Here you are singing Happy Birthday to Papa in your Golden Eagles Jersey just before we left for Destin.
I was sad to leave you, but we needed a few days of this.
Nana took good care of you while we were gone. She showed you off to her friends and at her schools. She even dressed you in all of the clothes she made for Uncle Billy when he was your age. You didn't seem to mind, but I have a feeling her days of dress up with you are numbered.
When mommy got home we tried out Baby Bootcamp. I was really hoping it would be a fun thing for you and I to do together, but you had other plans. Apparently you don't nap in the stroller when a lot of things are going on like you do when we go running. I guess it is running for me until you stop your morning naps.
The next weekend we headed up to Stillwater for your 1ST FOOTBALL GAME! You were such a hit at the tailgate. You ate, you napped, and you 'chilled' with all of the guys.
Daddy and the other big boys watched the game from the stadium, while you got to sit in the Wiese's suite. You are one spoiled boy. Football is one of your favorite things. You actually sat with mommy and watched the game. Then, like an angel, you fell asleep at half time. Unfortunately that didn't last. The game got exciting and you scram most of the second half. We will plan on leaving your next game at half so you don't miss bedtime. I think you are going to be really into football, which is exciting and terrifying at the same time. I will never have control of the TV again.
We spent the next week cuddling and celebrating Mommy and Daddy's 3rd anniversary. Daddy took this picture of you and I, and I love it! You are the best snuggle buddy ever.
That weekend Mommy and Daddy went to Austin on Friday while you stayed with Nana and Papaw. They met us in Austin the next day so Daddy, Papaw and Uncle Billy could go to the TX/WV game. Here you are hanging with Uncle Billy at Hula Hut.
Someday soon you will get to go to the game with the guys, but instead you spent the evening with Mommy and Nana... and got in bed ON TIME!
You are the greatest adventure Mommy and Daddy have had. We Love you and look forward to each new day we get to spend with you!
