We obviously don't have Kids...

because my camera is full of pictures like this :)

Tim and I have been home the past two weekends in a row!  Crazy, & I think I like it.

Two Fridays ago was date night.  We saw The Adjustment Bureau @ Studio Movie Grill.  I really liked the way it made you think.  I also really like that Studio Movie Grill combines dinner & a movie.  If you know me, you know I can't stay up late enough to watch a movie after dinner.

Tim and I had a very productive Saturday.  For the first time, in longer than I am willing to admit on this blog, we cleaned the house.  During the process we cleaned out the closet.  For the first time in a VERY long time, you can see the floor.

Then Lexi and I introduced Tim to the dog park.

We topped off the day with our first visit to Saturday night Church (I'm a huge fan) and Laura's Birthday Party!  Unfortunately I did not take pictures in Church, but worship was really cool with the windows dark.  It was a much more intimate setting.  Matt is still going through Habakkuk, but jumped over 2 Corinthians 12:7, which really spoke to some things that have been on my heart.  If you don't believe in spiritual warfare, what do you thing Satan's Angel is?  Read the verse.  It is very eye opening.

Laura's birthday party was fun.  Her roommate, with the help of several friends, put together an awesome video of how she has poured into their lives & what she meant to them.  It was really cool to see how Loved she is, and what a good job she does loving others. What an awesome present.  Unfortunately the pic with Laura in it did not turn out well :(  so here is a clear picture, and a picture with the birthday girl.

Since we went to Church Saturday, Sunday was wide open!  We had lunch with the Stephens @ Jake's and then headed to the Black Fin patio.  It was a very relaxed Sunday.

With Monday came the work week and a lot of the same ole same ole.  I was very excited to find out Monday night that Bachelor Brad chose Emily.  I know it's a long shot, but I hope it works out for them.

On Thursday Jeff, Jenny and Cam came in town.  Cam got her first golf lesson at Top Golf.  Here she is golfing with her daddy.

She is getting so big & talks so much!  We can't wait for this coming weekend when we get to keep her over night for the first time.  YAY.  Here are a few more pictures from last weekend.

When Jeff told Cam to 'hook' her hands, she immediately turned to Tim and yelled
 "Hook' Em Horns"!

With her dad & uncles, she will definitely know her sports at an early age :)

On Friday Cam went to the Aquarium and the Arboretum.  Here is the only pic I have of the Princess Castles:

After a fun filled day, the 'other' Davis crew headed to Keller & we headed to RA for Sushi with some new friends.  I did not take pictures, but it was delicious!

On Saturday we introduced Lanie to the dog park... our new favorite place.

She really liked the mud puddles near the water fountain... Can you tell?  Here is Dollar and some of Lanie's other friends:

We were so proud of Lex for hangin in the Big Dog park.  She did so good!

After the dog park (and a Lanie bath) we headed to Fuzzy's for some lunch & my new favorite drink :)

And came home to this:

I think she fits in pretty well.  Saturday night it was somewhat difficult for me to find somewhere to sleep between Tim, Lexi and Lanie.  I was definitely lowest on the totem pole.

Sunday was filled with Church, a ton of Basketball for Tim, and some shopping for me.  I have a feeling Basketball is going to be dominating my TV for the next month.  Boo.

Monday brought back the hustle and bustle.  It's now time to get to bed so I can make Bootcamp in the morning.  If only I was so dedicated to eating well :)

I was right...

Finding time to blog has become much more difficult.

Last weekend Tim and I got the opportunity to play in the Special Olympics.  Yes, I wrote that right, we played. (and even got medals) Here are some pics to prove it.

Tim and his boys:

(not cheating)

Me and my Girls:

Thank you mom for recruiting us.

Special Olympics was definately a great way to spend our Saturday morning.  All of the kids on our teams were really great.  We had a fun time getting to know them.  I think Tim wanted to take Nathaniel home with us!

That night we headed up to Allen to see our friend Tronson and his band "The Repeat Offenders" debut performance.  We had a great time.  The crowd was dancing all night.  What more could you ask for?

Sunday was beautiful & Tim celebrated by golfing with the boys.  Sarah and I took the opportunity to try out Buttons, a resturant I had been wanting to visit for a while.  Our little brunch trip was definately an interesting experience.  I probably should have gotten a heads up by the photo of the owner, and the fact that the signature dish was Chicken & Waffles, but I will say I was supprised.  When we walked in Sarah and I were the ONLY white people in the place.  We definately got some interesting stares.  Probably something we will laugh about for a while.  Here are some pics of Chicken & Waffles and Sarah & I.

We definately felt out of place, but the food was Delicious!

I spent the rest of the afternoon running erands and grocery shopping for the first time in 2 weeks.  When Tim and his golf buddies got home, we had their families over for dinner.  Now that most of our friends are switching to Saturday night church, I think Sunday night dinner needs to become a tradition.

Monday night Tim was out of town & I headed to Arlington to celebrate Aunt Glynis & Billy Ray's Birthdays. As usual, my mom was creative with the candles.  Can you guess what this arangement stands for?

Here are the guests of honor:

Tim and I spent Friday night before Special Olympics and then I spend Monday night at my parents house.  Lexi was very excited for play time with Buddy.  They are super cute together.

... and double the trouble.
Don't let their underbites fool you!

Monday night marked the end of me remembering to take photos for the blog.  Tuesday, Tim, Kelly & I cought up with the girls from the Bachelor.  I am super excited for the finale Monday night!  I will be on my couch if anyone would like to join me.  Thanks to Tim, (and his sports craze) we have a big TV to watch it on.

Wednesday was a tough day, but turned out to be really good for both Tim and I.  Clint Dobson, the pastor that was killed last week in Arlington, was a good friend of Tim's growing up.  I remember Friday morning hearing about the murder on the radio.  I thought it was sad & crazy, but didn't realize it would turn out to be so close to home.  It wasn't until a few days later that Tim got an e-mail from a high school friend and realized the pastor on the news was Clint.

Wednesday was the funeral.  I debated going because I didnt know him, but ultimately decided I should go with Tim.  I am glad I did.  Sitting there for a short period of time I feel that I got a really good picture of who Clint was/is.  There were several pictures of Clint and his wife that did a really good job depicting how they lived their lives.  They loved eachother and their passion, above all, was Jesus Christ.  Throughout the slideshow there were photos of mission trips, youth events, and several other outreach programs they were a part of.  His life was short, but it was lived well.  One of the speakers ended by saying the first words Clint heard when he was being welcomed by God into Heaven:

"Well done, my good and faithful servant".

The funeral made me realize how badly I want to hear those words, and that I want them to be true.  Tim and I go to church, we are involved in a home group, and attend activities when they fit into our schedule, but are we really living our lives to serve the Lord?  It's such a simple, yet difficult concept.  I feel like the funeral Wednesday was an awaking for both of us.  Since Wednesday my quite times have been longer and more meaningful.  I pray that Tim and I contine to grow closer to the lord and constantly be challenged in our walk with him.  I also pray that we become more open and attentive to God's plan for our lives as opposed to our plans we so often follow.

In the past year I have been to two funerals (one a Pastor, one a Pastor's wife) where it seems their lives were taken to soon.  Why is God allowing these lives to be taken at such early ages?  Although I do not know why Clint and Julie were chosen, both of their deaths have brought many people to know Christ.  Both of their lives have continued to impact people on earth, while they are with their Savior in Heaven.  I pray everyone learns from their examples.  Life is short.  Live it for Christ.

I don't know how many people are reading this, or what your relationship with Christ is like, but if you dont know him, I ask that you take this time to say a prayer or pick up a bible and discover who he is.  If you do, lift up Laura, Clint's wife and Mark, Major & Addy, Julie's family.  I am impressed by all of them and their continued walks with Christ through such difficult times.  May they be continue to be examples to all of us.

Hump Day...

This blogging thing is going to be a little harder to keep up with now that I am actually leaving my house again!  Here we go for a mid week summary.

Monday I went back to work.  Fun. Fun.  Monday night was spent with Liz, Laura and this guy:

Tim is usually a fan of the show, but because he was unavailable he 'let' me watch it with the ladies.  We usually bet on the show by both choosing a go home and a stay.  Tim called Chantal O as his all time stay several weeks ago, so I have gained some loyalty toward Emily.  After talking to Liz, and hearing all the background info she knew about the 'girls', I decided to do some research of my own. (Like every other good Attorney does in the middle of the day at work)

For some crazy reason I have become very attached to Emily and her story.  I have to keep reminding myself that I do not know her, Ricky Hendrick, or any of their family, but I can not stop thinking about it.  I am really depressed over it.  How RIDICULOUS am I? Seriously, to the point where I have been praying about it for two days now.  Anyway, everyone say a little prayer for Emily and the people involved in her life, and for me, because some how I have managed to emotionally throw myself in the middle of it.  As a side note, Emily is definitely my favorite contestant, but I am concerned for her and any actual chance of a long term relationship with Brad.  She should not be put through any more heart ache!

Moving on.  Tuesday was a beautiful day and I decided to take Lexi to try out a new dog park after work.  She loved it.  It was much closer to our house and much nicer than White Rock.  I now feel really bad that we have lived in North Dallas for over a year and this is the first time I took her.  Check out Lexi and some of her new friends:

I am sure we will be back soon!

Today took me on an exciting adventure to Venus, Texas.   You can imagine what was running through my mind when I drove up to this:

I should probably take the opportunity now to apologize to the City of Venus for all of the smack talking I have done over the past couple weeks.  Although the officer Tim and I encountered a month ago was a huge jerk, your City Attorney is pretty cool.  Thank you Mr. Attorney for telling me how the cop went out of his way to provide you extra evidence on this one, then smiling and dismissing the ticket for lack of evidence.  I have no idea why you decided to randomly be so nice to me, but I will take it.  Now if the attorneys on Tim's 7 other tickets can only be so cool...

This week has been nicely paced.  A little laid back, getting back into the routine of every day life.  Although I have gone back to work, I am still not working out.  Today Lex & I walked a mile, so maybe a couple tomorrow and boot camp by Friday!  We will see where the end of the week takes me. As long as it is off the couch, I am good.
