Mother's Day: Preg-O Post

When I first got pregnant, I had great intentions of taking cute week by week photos and decorating a chalk board or something, but unfortunately that didn't work out as planned.  Maybe I'll do better with Baby #2.  Doubt it.  Here is what we have for the first go round!

13 Weeks: Feeling great.  Drinking a milkshake a day and working out like crazy.  I probably just ran 6 miles or so... I miss that phase.  Me too.  Missing the phase that is, not working out like crazy.

23 weeks: Still feeling great and running hard.  I refer to this as the fat/frumpy phase.  No one really knows if you are pregnant or fat and everyone is still afraid to ask.  As much as I didn't like being  the 'fat girl', I think I prefer it to the June 4/boy/first child conversation I now have five million times a day.  Maybe I'm weird, but I really don't enjoy that conversation with people I don't know.  Can somebody say socially awkward?  Hey, whats going on with your body today?

25 weeks: All dressed up and ready for a saw inspection.  I told her she looked like a Halloween pumpkin with the colors.  Jack-O-lantern, thats it... not Halloween pumpkin.  So smart!   Luckily that case settled, considering we were set for Trial June 4th :) Nothing like going into labor in the court room.  One girl went into labor during class my first year in law school.  She decided she would stay b/c it was her 3rd and she knew how it was all going to go down. (true story)  I have a feeling I may react a little differently when the time comes.

32 weeks: That is definitely a baby!  This is around the time my runs turned to walks.  Thank God Jill kept me accountable, it would have been really easy to stop working out about this time. This picture was taken after about 3 1/2 miles.

35 Weeks: Someone get me a Snow Cone! Now!  One day this week I spent 30 minutes researching the Best Snow Cones in Dallas.  I seriously considered driving to Oak Cliff in rush hour traffic.  I saw a pregnant craving in progress and kept my mouth shut for fear of being eaten.   Luckily I remembered a closer option that did not come up on my online search.  I have never been so excited.

This is when I became officially uncomfortable. I can't really complain because the bulk of this pregnancy was smooth sailing, but at this point I started counting the seconds until 37 weeks, so it would be safe for him come.  (too bad we are now at 37 and he hasn't decided to make his debut)

36 weeks: Numb Arms and Lobster.  Who am I?

I think Lincoln has found a nerve he likes to lay on, because my arms go numb throughout the day.  I am super behind on Thank You notes, but I can't write with numb hands, so they may come after he gets here :(   Luckily I can still type.  (is it cheating if I type thank you notes?)  Yes.  Oh wait, then I would have to write... NO!

Random craving #2: Lobster.  If you know me, you know I don't really do seafood, but Friday night I did.  Fillet and Lobster.  This craving cost Tim a little more than the Snow Cone :) Thanks babe.  You're worth every penny! (especially when its Sno Cones)

37 Weeks: Dreaming it is time.  I seriously went to bed last night praying my water would break in my sleep.  I'm over it.  Friday night we saw Avengers in a theater where my feet didn't touch the floor.  Mine did.  After 2 1/2 hours of hanging feet I could barely walk out. I wasn't carrying you're big ol butt. Yesterday we did the square in Granbury, while fun, it left me wanting to cut my feet off.    Lincoln, it is time for you to come out.  Mommy is ready to meet you!  Daddy too!

Tim has been working on a baby of his own:

His pregnancy was a little shorter than mine... and his baby popped out the wrong end.

Luckily she has been here for a while, so we have had a chance to test out all of Lincoln's things :)

We had a little chair fiasco this week, but now that we officially have a rocker, Lincoln's room is almost done.  Nursery post coming soon!

I wouldn't want to end this post without saying Happy Mother's Day Scotty J.  He's sexy and he knows it!  Can't wait for your baby to get here so Lincoln will have a friend :)
