Other than the normal excuses, and the fact that I am lazy, we have two major announcements that I could not blog without mentioning. I'm not really sure who reads this, but being that its public, certain things had to be kept 'confidential' until everything was discussed with the people directly involved. That has been done and now we can share!
In order of importance....
We are happy to announce we will be welcoming a baby boy in early June (or May if I get my way). We can't wait to meet our little guy! What makes our news even more exciting, is that my best friend had her first son this week. I can't wait for EJ and Baby Davis to grow up together and get into all kinds of trouble just like Maite and I did! Meet EJ (stolen from FB, Thanks Andy!)
Is he not the cutest thing ever! I am so excited for Maite & Eric! Luckily I get to head down to Houston in a week for an extended visit due to my second major announcement.
I have officially resigned from my job and started my own Law Firm! While there is fear involved with taking this step, there is also great excitement and potential for success. We are trusting in the Lord that he will take us where we need to be, and believe this is where he wants us now.
It has been a great 4 years and resigning was bitter sweet. I am thankful for the great experience my first job was and everything I have learned. That being said, I am more excited about what the future holds and what is to come in the next few years. Luckily, my resignation conversation went as well as it could possibly have. My Boss has asked me to keep several of my current cases as referrals to my new business. Hopefully this will keep a semi steady income until I get everything up and running. (and while we get this baby thing figured out) While it is scary, and holds many uncertainties, Tim and I have thought and prayed about this decision for a long time and are ready for what lies ahead. Get ready for full blown Law Firm Marketing in February! If you know anyone who gets in a car wreck, send them my way!
Needless to say, things around the Davis House have been a little crazy the last few months. We are currently re-arranging the house to make better spaces for the nursery, a play room, and my office. Tim actually has strong opinions on decorating, so say a little prayer that we make it through these next few days. Also, please pray that both of us working from home is a positive work environment. From what I hear, working with your spouse can be tough!
2011 has been a great year, and I have a feeling 2012 will be even better around here! I will do my best to get a blog up soon re-capping the end of 2011. (probably more for my memory then for others) Next year I am going to need some kind of reminder of what life was like before a baby... and something to prove to my children in their teenage years that Tim and I were once fun :)
So happy for y'all! Cannot wait for all the awesome things in store in 2012! :)
